Hegid Expedition: The Watch for Bold Adventurers

Hegid, the French Maison of Evolutionary Watchmaking, is revamping its EXPEDITION model with a new design featuring more strength than ever. Hegid's explorer's watch has been modernized, enhanced legibility, maintained its challenge-ready specifications, and consolidated its status as the ultimate timepiece for adventurers.

The EXPEDITION was introduced at Baselworld 2019, along with Hegid's patented EVOL complication. Its new edition, still inspired by off-road vehicles, stands out for its conquering style and unwavering specifications. From rally races to urban jungles, modern trailblazers are piloting metal steeds. They push their mounts to the limits of the possible, far off the beaten track. The EXPEDITION is in the same vein as these powerful automobiles, except that this block of steel fits everywhere, even under the sleeves of shirts.

The raw lines of the EXPEDITION are emphasized by a delicate combination of reliefs and the alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces. The case of the new EXPEDITION model, made from two assembled steel parts, gives the watch a massive, asymmetrical silhouette. Its strong physiognomy is reinforced by a massive crown protector reminiscent of the grilles of the most legendary four-wheel-drive machines. The EXPEDITION capsule's grained-textured dial, which refers to the tarmac of racetracks and the gravel of roadways, emphasizes legibility with contrasting chronometric indicators. The hour markers and hands are now made of Super-Luminova 3D blocks, a manufacturing technology at the cutting edge of the watchmaking industry that delivers optimal readability at dusk, while the engine is still in motion. The EXPEDITION's seconds hand boasts two counterbalanced parts. It allows precise chronometric measurements to be taken every 30 seconds, using either the graduation on the flange or the inner graduation on the dial. For extreme adventurers and long-distance travelers, the EXPEDITION has a date window at 4 o'clock. It will suit the image hunters taking all risks, as well as extreme reporters covering hostile areas..

The robust automatic movement of the EXPEDITION, the French-made Hegid Specimen FE-01 Caliber, housed in a highly shock-resistant steel and titanium capsule locked in its sturdy case is visible through a sapphire crystal on the back of the watch. The watch's rugged architecture serves a high-precision watchmaking engine that complies with the strictest industry standards. Hegid's EXPEDITION is made for adventure: it's resistant to impact, easily accommodates both mud and immersion (up to 10 bars), while displaying the time with the utmost precision (-4/+6 seconds per day).

Finally, for ultimate comfort in all situations, the Hegid EXPEDITION timepiece comes in a wood case with two ultra-resistant interchangeable straps: the Mission strap in calf leather for superior durability, and the Performance strap in striped fabric, an original creation inspired by extreme military equipment.

The Hegid mechanical watches, consisting of three component parts, can be transformed in just a few seconds, while maintaining their precision horological qualities. The various modules that compose the EXPEDITION can be purchased separately and adapted to pre-existing Hegid watches, according to your desires and needs. This allows the wearer unlimited, creative options.
