Jerôme Coste joins Hegid as Artistic Director

Hegid has the privilege to announce the appointment of Jerôme Coste as Artistic Director of the Maison. He will be the head of creation and will directly take a role in the emergence of the brand in the luxury and watchmaking universes. The creator, distinguished by his achievements in luxury and the mechanical worlds, will artistically support Hegid's ambition to make watchmaking evolve. His first creations for Hegid will be released this spring, and will be followed by a sidereal collaboration.

This recent appointment illustrates Hegid's development strategy, at the crossroads of the excellence and savoir-faire of watchmaking and the creativity of fashion and arts. Through its evolutionary watches, Hegid brings together timeless mechanics with style, which changes over time.

"I feel honored to have Jerôme at Hegid, it is a privilege to count on sucha talent for our Maison. Without even knowing it, I was already admiring his work years ago when Keira Knightley was putting on his Ruby helmet on television. Jerôme, his creative genius, his culture of savoir-faire, his sense of luxury, will be essential to take Hegid on an authentic and original path", said Henrick Gauché, founder of Hegid.

"After having followed the genesis of the Hegid project, it is an honor to accept the role of Artistic Director of the Hegid Maison. I will be keen to participate in growing the brand by bringing my vision and my attention to detail to the passion, expertise and dynamism of the founders, Henrick and Gregory Gauché and Emeric Delalandre ", said Jerôme Coste.

About Jerôme Coste:

Jerôme Coste was born in 1971 and grew up in a family passionate about mechanical sports in France, near Paris. After studying at the Estienne Applied Arts School in 1991, he went to California and joined JT Racing, a historic brand of Motocross equipments. He discovered with this brand, which was making him dream at his time, the creation, design, marketing and manufacturing disciplines. Back in France, he founded Hold Up in 1996, a fashion and skateboard brand. In the meantime, he created Deep, a creative studio dedicated to fashion, music and sports. In 2006, he founded Ruby, a brand of high-end helmets and mobility accessories which made his fame. Ruby distinguished itself by a neo-retro aesthetic, the high quality of its products and the delight of its prestigious collaborations such as with Karl Lagerfeld, the Ill Studio collective, the street artist Honet, the fictional character Sponge Bob, the Parisian concept store Colette or brands like Dior, Louis Vuitton or Maison Margiela. After Ruby's closing in 2014, some brands collaborated with Jérôme Coste as artistic consultant, like Hegid which asked him to create the brand’s original logo. A few years later, Jerôme joins the emerging Maison as Artistic Director.

About Hegid:

Hegid is a young French company which invented a dressing complication for mechanical watchmaking. Designed from the best materials, with reliable mechanics which has already been proved by major watchmaking Maisons, Hegid watches are made to last for generations. They can also be easily transformed, in a few seconds, to adapt to desires and situations. After purchasing a Hegid watch, anyone can upgrade it with a new carrue, a new capsule or a new bracelet. Hegid elements are then a ready-made idea for a gift, and each new element multiplies the number of possible combinations. If every collector is unique as a person, his watch must also be unique. Between the French precision industry and the Swiss movements, most of the manufacturing takes place within a few kilometers, between Besançon and La Chaux-de-Fonds, the world heart of Watchmaking. The requirement in production, the mastery of know-how and the independence of the brand allow Hegid to offer watches of exceptional quality at a competitive price. At a time when our flexibility to adapt is required, the Hegid Maison responds: "Make your Evolution". Make your Evolution, whether in the head or on the wrist.
