All watches purchased online on hegid.com or through authorized Hegid dealers are covered by the Hegid Watch Warranty. All Hegid service and repairs performed by Hegid or an authorized Hegid service center are also covered by the Hegid Service and Repair Warranty.
Each watch has an individual serial number that guarantees its origin and authenticity. Watches purchased from unauthorized Hegid dealers or from a website other than hegid.com, as well as modified watches, are not guaranteed. Hegid prioritizes the quality of its products and believes that the transmission of knowledge required to use its creations is essential for its customers to enjoy their watches over time.
This Hegid Warranty applies to watches and watch accessories (capsules, cases, straps) sold or presented for repair under the Hegid Warranty.
Hegid watches and watch accessories (capsules, cases, straps) are guaranteed against any manufacturing defect for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase (hereinafter referred to as the Warranty Period) under the terms described below. All Hegid watches are covered by a legal warranty. The duration of the legal warranty varies depending on the law applicable in each country. When well maintained, Hegid watches are of exemplary quality and longevity. Therefore, subject to passing a quick watchmaking knowledge test administered online or after attending an awareness presentation on the use and maintenance of watches in an authorized Hegid center, Hegid may offer a 24-month Hegid Warranty extension, bringing the Hegid warranty to a total of 4 years. The questionnaire and information provided allow Hegid to guarantee that the watches and services will be correctly understood by the customer.
To summarize:
- Order online, 24-month warranty;
- Order from an approved Hegid center, 36-month warranty;
- Order online and pass the watchmaking knowledge test, 36-month warranty;
- Order from an approved Hegid center and pass the watchmaking knowledge test, 48-month warranty.
If a watch is returned during the Warranty Period, any defective component due to a manufacturing defect duly noted by our technical services will be repaired or replaced, at Hegid's discretion, free of charge. At the end of the Warranty Period, any service or repair will be at the customer's expense.
The following are expressly excluded from the Hegid Guarantee:
- defects or damage resulting from misuse, neglect, or accident;
- defects or damage caused by improper use (shocks, dents, crushing of the case, glass, strap, etc.), by alterations, deterioration, disassembly, unauthorized modifications or repairs, as well as by services, interventions or repairs carried out elsewhere than by Hegid or in an authorized Hegid service center, or by the use of components and/or accessories other than those recommended by Hegid;
- watches whose serial number originally engraved on the capsule has been erased or is not clearly legible, as well as watches where all or part of the original case back or original number has been removed, modified, altered, replaced, erased, or damaged;
- regular cleaning and maintenance, as well as the consequences of normal wear and tear and aging of the watch;
- any defect resulting from contact with water, if your waterproof watch has not undergone the water resistance tests required by Hegid each time the case has been opened for any reason, or if your watch is not waterproof.
To benefit from the Hegid Warranty, you are invited to contact Hegid or visit an authorized Hegid service center, with official proof of your Hegid Guarantee (Purchase Invoice, Hegid Warranty Certificate, other). Shipping costs, including but not limited to postage, insurance, and packaging, are your responsibility. We recommend that you send any shipments to us by registered mail and that you take out insurance.
Only Hegid and Hegid authorized service centers are authorized to provide service under this Hegid Warranty. This Hegid Warranty does not affect any other rights you may have under applicable national law. These rights may vary by country, state, province, or territory.
The Hegid Service and Repair Warranty applies to Hegid watches that have been serviced by Hegid or an authorized Hegid service center, or that have been brought in for warranty service.
Each intervention on a watch remains guaranteed for 24 months from the repair date indicated on the repair documents against any defect caused by this intervention and confirmed by our technical service, excluding the situations mentioned below. The Hegid Complete Service, under the conditions described in the following paragraph, guarantees the intervention for 4 years. This Hegid Service and Repair Warranty covers the intervention as defined in the repair documents only and does not apply to other services.
The Hegid Service and Repair Warranty does not cover, among other things:
- Defects or damage resulting from misuse, neglect, or accident;
- Defects or damage caused by improper use (shocks, dents, crushing of the case, glass, strap, etc.), by alterations, deterioration, disassembly, unauthorized modifications or repairs, as well as by services, interventions or repairs carried out elsewhere than at Hegid or in an authorized Hegid service center, or by the use of components and/or accessories other than those recommended by Hegid;
- Watches whose serial number originally printed on the case has been erased or is not clearly legible, or watches where all or part of the original case back or original serial number has been removed, modified, altered, replaced, erased or damaged;
- Regular cleaning and maintenance, as well as the consequences of normal wear and tear and aging of the watch.
The Hegid Service and Repair Warranty is invalid in cases where necessary interventions recommended by Hegid are not carried out at your express request. If a complete overhaul of the watch is not carried out within a period of 4 years after the date of purchase of the watch or the last Hegid Complete Overhaul, the Hegid Service and Repair Warranty specific to the Hegid Complete Service is invalid.
To benefit from the Hegid Service and Repair Warranty, you must present the original invoice for the service and/or the original repair documents to Hegid or to one of the Hegid authorized service centers. Remember to keep the original invoice for the service and/or the original repair documents. Shipping costs, including but not limited to postage, insurance, and packaging, are your responsibility. We recommend that you send any shipments to us by registered mail and that you take out insurance. After the warranty period expires, any service or repair will be subject to a charge.
Only Hegid or an authorized Hegid service center can provide the above-mentioned warranty services.
This Warranty is granted by Hegid in addition to any other legal rights granted by applicable national legislation. This Hegid Service and Repair Warranty does not interfere with these rights. The Hegid Service and Repair Warranty is entirely independent of the Hegid Watch Warranty granted upon purchase of the product. Please note that, under this Hegid Service and Repair Warranty, neither the service invoice nor the repair documents can constitute a certificate of authenticity.
A Hegid watch is a complex mechanical instrument that works non-stop and must last for centuries. It is designed to accompany its owner and his heirs. It is therefore essential to schedule a complete Hegid service every five years to guarantee its aesthetics, proper functioning, and longevity. If you notice significant variations in the rate before five years, it is not necessarily necessary to have your movement serviced; we advise you to have your watch diagnosed at an authorized Hegid service center. It is also advisable to have the water resistance of your watch checked every year or before any period during which it will be subjected to prolonged or regular immersion.
Maintenance and repairs should be performed by Hegid or an authorized Hegid service center. Authorized service centers are operated by skilled watchmakers and have the facilities, tools, and components necessary for the repair and maintenance of Hegid watches. In some cases, particularly for operations requiring specific tools and components, the service centers will send your watch to Hegid to have the required operation performed. These operations are necessary for the longevity of your watch. To benefit from Regular Maintenance or the Hegid Complete Service, you are invited to contact Hegid or visit an authorized Hegid service center. Essential, highly recommended by Hegid, and in your best interest, the service costs mentioned in this paragraph and transport costs, including but not limited to postage, insurance, and packaging, are your responsibility. Investing in the complete overhaul of your Hegid timepiece means perpetuating its legend. We recommend that you send any shipments to us by registered mail and take out insurance.
The Hegid Complete Service allows for a complete and thorough maintenance of your watch. It is necessary when a watch has not been checked for a period of 4 years, or when its mechanism no longer works correctly (if the oils allowing optimal operation are dried out, for example). The warranty for this service, if it has been carried out within a maximum period of 5 years between the date of purchase or the last Hegid Complete Service, covering only the service carried out, is 5 years. The Hegid Complete Service includes:
- complete disassembly of the watch;
- cleaning the case;
- reassembly of the glass;
- magnetization control and, if necessary, demagnetization;
- restoration of the movement;
- adjustment and setting of movement;
- movement control;
- if necessary, changing the hands;
- reassembling the dial and hands;
- changing all seals;
- winding the watch;
- leak testing;
- checking the operation of the watch.
When specific damaged parts (dial, crystal, crown, etc.) need to be replaced, they will only be changed and charged extra after your agreement.
Warranty extension
You can extend the warranty of your Hegid watch up to 4 years by passing a warranty extension test. We recommend reading the Hegid User Guide beforehand.
