Hegid was conceived in 2016 by three partners passionate about watchmaking, mechanics, and style. After two years of research and development, Hegid's EVOL invention was patented, and the brand's first evolutionary watches were launched on the market.

Henrick Gauche
Henrick, the founder of Hegid, is first and foremost a watchmaking enthusiast. While working for Louis Vuitton, he discovered the watchmaking industry during a trip to Switzerland in 2006, which would never cease to inspire him. Watchmaker in his spare time, he turned professional and became manager of a multi-brand luxury watch boutique in Deauville in 2009, then in Paris in 2013. He imagined Hegid's EVOL concept, which allows users to create and modify their watches as they wish on sketches, before embarking on technical research with his partners in 2016.

Emeric Delalandre
Emeric interned in the boutique that Henrick was managing in 2013. During those few months working together, they discovered common interests, but above all complementary skills. While his elder partner specialized in mechanics and sales, Emeric focused on marketing and already had a keen understanding of the opportunities available in the watchmaking industry. Now recognized in the sector for his skills, Emeric was honored in 2021 by Forbes magazine in its ranking of the French 30 under 30.

Gregory Gauche
Henrick's younger brother, Gregory, embraced a career in the manufacturing field at a very young age. He worked for nearly 20 years in automotive design firms. When his brother brought up the technical challenge that Hegid represented, Gregory jumped on board. From his brother's unconventional ideas, he always creates tangible solutions, translating them into industrial language, modeling them in 3D, and producing prototypes. As the technical inventor of the system patented by Hegid, his work has enabled Hegid to develop a product with great potential that has attracted the interest of the industry since its launch. Gregory is involved in the industrial production aspects of the business.

Everyone can create and customize their watch as they wish. In fact, Hegid was born out of creative encounters. Henrick Gauché started out in watchmaking by combining several watches to create one that was more to his liking. Then he decided to create the watch of his dreams, one which wasn't yet existing, one that could change according to his desires. In his adventure, he surrounded himself with free spirits such as Jérôme Coste, the brand's Creative Director, who is now responsible for all of the brand's creations. He is particularly known for his collaborations between the mechanical world and prestigious brands on a number of occasions in the past. Changing watches changes our relationship with time.

EVOL, the system patented by Hegid, allows you to customize your watch however you like. The customization process is intuitive and starts with a central capsule. In just a few seconds, this watchmaking core can be dressed up with stylish cases and comfortable straps, which can be attached to it. This invention is very much in tune with our times. With its refined design, it addresses the issue faced by many watch enthusiasts who have previously been forced to choose between several pieces, concerned about making the wrong long-term decision.

Local craftsmanship
From design to production, Hegid made the choice early on to work with a local ecosystem. It was a choice of the heart, but above all one of common sense, motivated by France's leading role in the luxury goods industry. With the exception of a few Swiss movements that come from a manufacturer in La Chaux-de-Fonds, most of the work involved in creating and manufacturing the watches is the fruit of the labor of cutting-edge artisans who work closely together on our native soil. Between Paris and Besançon, 90% of the value of Hegid watches is of French origin, which is more than enough to deserve the Made in France label.
