Simple and precise
A Hegid timepiece is both a precision instrument and a unique style accessory, so it is important to know how to use it properly.
Each Hegid watch is made up of three elements: a capsule, a case, and a strap.
Two systems allow the elements to be connected: the capsule is fixed in the case thanks to the patented Hegid EVOL system, and the strap is fixed to the case via a quick-release system of lug pumps.
Precautions
Before each manipulation, make sure that:
- the elements are clean and dry;
- operations are carried out on a suitable surface: clean, non-abrasive, accessible, and clear;
- manipulation is carried out at a maximum height of 20 centimetres between the work surface and the elements in order to limit the risks in the event of a fall.
Capslock
In the open position, the Capslock prongs are fully in their housings.
In the closed position, the Caplock's prongs are partially out of their housings. A "click stop" assures you that the prongs are correctly positioned.
Never attempt to insert the Capsule when the Capslock is in the closed position.
Strap
The strap is attached between the lugs of the case using lug pumps.
We recommend the exclusive use of Hegid straps. The diameters of the lug pumps are designed to be compatible with the holes in the lugs of the case.
The use of products not validated by Hegid may lead to premature wear of the case or fragility of the fastening.
Insert the capsule into the case
1) Position the CAPSLOCK ring of your Capsule in the open position;
2) Present the case parallel to the dial face of the capsule;
3) Align the crown tube of the capsule with the housing of the case;
4) Proceed with the insertion;
5) Once the capsule is in place, grab the assembly and present the watch back side down;
6) Using both thumbs, lightly press the CAPSLOCK ring and turn it clockwise until it stops;
7) The CAPSLOCK ring mark aligns with the mark engraved on the case. The two elements are secured together.
Attaching the strap to the case
1) Grab one strand of the strap, inner side towards you;
2) Take the case between the fingers of the other hand;
3) Place the lower end of the pump into the visible hole in the horn of the case;
4) Press the pump lug down with your thumbnail. The piston should fit completely into the pump tube;
5) By moving the case, place the pump perpendicular to the horn, release the pressure on the lug, and engage it in the upper hole;
6) Turn the watch crown down and do the same for the second strand of the strap;
7) Once the strap is attached, ensure the grip by pulling on the strap and the case in opposite directions. The strap is secured to the case.
Manually wind your watch
Manual winding is recommended when your watch is stopped or has not been worn for more than 24 hours.
1) Hold the capsule with your left hand;
2) Unscrew the crown counterclockwise with the thumb and index finger of your right hand. After a while, you will feel the crown free from the screw thread (position 0);
3) If the watch is stopped, turn the crown approximately 30 times clockwise for maximum power reserve. Your capsule is now wound;
4) Push the crown towards the capsule, and, without releasing the pressure, make a half turn counterclockwise to align the screw threads. Then, still maintaining the pressure, screw it back in clockwise until it stops.
Setting the date on your watch (French caliber)
1) Hold the capsule with your left hand;
2) Unscrew the crown counterclockwise with the thumb and index finger of your right hand. After a while, you will feel the crown free from the screw thread (position 0);
3) Pull the crown in the opposite direction to the capsule once (position 1, date setting);
4) Turn the crown counterclockwise to set the desired date. The date is now set;
5) Push the crown towards the capsule to return to position 0;
6) Push the crown back towards the capsule and, without releasing the pressure, turn it halfway counterclockwise to align the screw threads. Then, still maintaining the pressure, screw it back in clockwise until it stops.
Set the date on your watch (Swiss caliber)
1) Hold the capsule with your left hand;
2) Unscrew the crown counterclockwise with the thumb and index finger of your right hand. After a while, you will feel the crown free from the screw thread (position 0);
3) Pull the crown in the opposite direction to the capsule once (position 1, date setting);
4) Turn the crown clockwise to set the desired date. The date is now set;
5) Push the crown towards the capsule to return to position 0;
6) Push the crown back towards the capsule and, without releasing the pressure, turn it halfway counterclockwise to align the screw threads. Then, still maintaining the pressure, screw it back in clockwise until it stops.
Adjust the color index of your Laboratoire Colorama
1) Hold the capsule with your left hand;
2) Unscrew the crown counterclockwise with the thumb and index finger of your right hand. After a while, you will feel the crown free from the screw thread (position 0);
3) Pull the crown in the opposite direction to the Capsule once (position 1, date setting);
4) Turn the crown clockwise to set the color you want. The color index is now set;
5) Push the crown towards the capsule to return to position 0;
6) Push the crown back towards the capsule and, without releasing the pressure, turn it halfway counterclockwise to align the screw threads. Then, still maintaining the pressure, screw it back in clockwise until it stops.
Set the time on your watch
1) Hold the capsule with your left hand;
2) Unscrew the crown counterclockwise with the thumb and index finger of your right hand. After a while, you will feel the crown free from the screw thread (position 0);
3) Pull the crown in the opposite direction to the capsule once (position 1, date setting), then a second time (position 2, time setting);
4) Turn the crown to set the time you want to adjust by turning the hands. You can turn it either clockwise or counterclockwise. The time is now set;
5) Push the crown towards the Capsule to return to position 0;
6) Push the crown back towards the Capsule and, without releasing the pressure, turn it halfway counterclockwise to align the screw threads. Then, still maintaining the pressure, screw it back in clockwise until it stops.
Use the rotating bezel of your Vision
1) Hold your watch firmly;
2) Turn the bi-directional bezel of the Vision case with two fingers in the direction of your choice;
